We have an exciting requirement for a Head of Strategy and Performance to work for a client-side engineering organization in the UAE. The candidate placed in this position will be responsible for leading the development of our client’s strategic plans, reviewing feasibility studies and ensure financial planning models are being employed to perform business analysis in order to determine our client’s short and long-term plans in line with the strategic direction and objectives that it aspires to achieve by taking into account market trends and practices and emerging challenges and opportunities. Candidates applying for this position must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, minimum 8 years post graduate experience and ideally will have held a similar position for a rail engineering organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the strategy formulation workshops alongside Executive management by providing pertinent insights and inputs, in line with business needs, requirements and organizational direction
  • Establish the Department’s strategy and ensure implementation and effective delivery of strategic objectives in line with the Business Unit’s strategy and direction 
  • Develop the Department’s budget and ensure continuous monitoring of expenditure and timely reporting to Business Unit Heads on operational costs and savings 
  • Translate the Division/Business Unit’s strategy into annual and three-year business plans; continuously monitor implementation to ensure achievement of business strategy and corporate performance indicators
  • Identify operational issues, conduct business impact analysis and escalate risks to Executive management in order to address unresolved matters
  • Contribute to the development of new products, provision of new services and the refinement of existing policies and processes and standards based on the organization`s strategic direction and in line with external market practices
  • Spearhead the overall planning process of our client’s projects by endorsing project plans and schedules developed by the various business units in order to ensure alignment with our client’s strategy and business objectives and proactively ensure the timely achievement of milestones
  • Oversee the formulation of strategic partnerships and alliances, service level agreements and memorandum of understanding with the respective parties relevant to Etihad Rail and ensure a single point of contact is maintained with our client’s partners to continuously deliver superior quality of services
  • Oversee the establishment of the strategic project management office
  • Spearhead and supervise the implementation of our client’s strategic plan and ensure the strategy team is monitoring progress against plan, in line with approved budgets and milestones to more effectively meet and achieve corporate objectives
  • Spearhead organizational innovation to ensure evaluation and improvement of our clients innovative capability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject
  • 5 years of GCC experience
  • Business analysis certification preferred
  • PMP preferred
  • Finance and Statistics certification preferred
