Senior Estimator (Infrastrucuture)

We are looking for a Senior or Intermediate Estimator to join our team in Infrastructure Services. The successful applicant will have previous experience in Highways maintenance schemes and public realm schemes up to £30 million.

Job Purpose
     * To develop the tender information into a competent price and present the same at the various review stages
     * To work within the tender team to maximise all opportunities and mitigate all risks to achieve the best net cost estimate

Principal Duties & Accountabilities
     * Prepare the financial elements of the tender
     * Agree outputs and delivery mechanism with operations and price accordingly
     * Understand and help to develop pricing strategies to enable a competitive bid to be submitted
     * Contribute to the identification and pricing of risks and opportunities.
     * Incorporate all current subcontract and materials costs into the tender, utilising current framework agreements where appropriate
     * Work in the tender team giving financial input for all programme, VE, temporary works and other associated issues
     * Price the tender using the Candy Estimating IT package
     * Prepare tender papers and present at reviews as required
     * Assist the bid team in any post tender negotiations
     * Price preliminaries as agreed with operations and reconcile pricing/resources with planning team
     * Adherence to Skanska policies and procedures
     * Ad hoc duties as job requires

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications Required
     * Degree qualified preferable
     * Knowledge of commercial conditions (including NEC) and design process
     * Relevant CSCS Card
     * Estimating experience to required level
     * Computerised estimating systems and IT skills as appropriate
     * Knowledge of relevant specifications and methods of measurement
