Strategic sourcing for major energy infrastructure projects
Gas transmission systems, tunnels, interconnectors, offshore transmission, and carbon capture and storage…this is an opportunity to get involved in some of National Grid’s most high-profile projects. Making full use of your procurement or quantity surveying expertise, you’ll work across functions, managing a number of complex sourcing strategies concurrently.
These are strategic buying roles that require the ability to work at a high level on complex bid negotiations. We’ll expect you to bring, or to quickly acquire, expertise in procurement processes, strategic sourcing and category management. Skilled in both relationship management and stakeholder management, you’ll also be highly analytical. You should be a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or be willing to work towards it. Familiarity with the energy or utilities sector would be helpful.
National Grid is the largest utility in the UK and the second largest utility in the US. We play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and the Northeast US in an efficient, reliable and safe manner.
