M&E Engineer - East London
Our client is currently seeking an M&E professional to join them on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading social housing provider and take the lead in bringing the M&E function back in house. You will responsible for all planned, cyclical and servicing works across the organisations Property, maintenance and construction functions.
This role would suit someone technically strong in mechanical and electrical engineering, preferably with experience on domestic properties. .
The successful applicant should be from a multi disciplines, preferably with some experience of new build properties also.
Most of the properties are medium to low rise so combi heating etc / electrical systems are common place. The role is a relatively senior position but there is no team supporting this role it is stand alone the client is a very progressive Housing Association.
You will be responsible for M&E technical input, design, specification, and contract management of major works, reactive maintenance and service contracts, which include all mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations throughout the stock. This includes, but not exclusive to electrical installations; mechanical installations; lifts; pumps, water hygiene services, door entry systems, ventilation, fire detection/prevention, digital TV and communal boilers.
You will need to ensure that all responsive maintenance repairs to M&E installations are carried out promptly to a high standard of repair and will be managing the external contractors engaged to carry out all works in relation to M&E contracts, and where appointed, supervise consultants.
Essential Qualification - Recognised qualification in both Mechanical & Electrical services and maintenance, Degree or HND/HNC level.
Desired qualification - Chartered Engineer status
Essential Experience - Thorough knowledge of building services including whole life cost design, Developing specifications, procurement, contract admin, and delivery of efficient long term building services maintenance contracts
