As the Portfolio Planner and Analyst you will play a key role in defining, managing and maintaining all programme and project control, governance, assurance and reporting processes. You will be responsible for the validation and assurance of programme plans to consistent standards and quality across the business and coach and support all business functions in the management and delivery of their plans. In order to be effective in this role you will have significant programme and portfolio planning and analysis experience, preferably relating to business change and capability development programmes.
Qualified to Degree level in a Business or Technical discipline you will have a demonstrable track record of working within successful change programmes within either the Utility, Manufacturing or Engineering sectors, or have experience as a Management or Engineering consultant. We are looking for an individual who has a sound knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management tools and techniques (P3M3), with the ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate with creditability in order to influence.
Main Duties:
Definition, establishment, monitoring and maintenance of all programme and project control, governance and reporting processes.
Design, configuration and implementation of a Portfolio Management System.
Assurance and guidance of the production and maintenance of level 1, 2 and 3 programme plans to consistent standards and quality across all business functions within the company.
Management of the reporting process upwards to the EMT Steering Group to provide programme status dashboards and RAG reporting.
Maintenance of the portfolio library, documents and change control process.
Management and maintenance of the portfolio risk and issues register (RAID log), including mitigations.
Production and maintenance of a project tracker that overviews the scope and status of all programmes and projects.
Advice and support to the functional / local PMOs to ensure that a single common approach to change project and programme management is taken across the business.
Identification and proactive management of critical path activities to ensure issues or blockages are actively resolved by facilitation.
Ensuring that programme and project architecture is appropriate to ensure critical activities are prioritised, and dependencies across and between programmes are understood and managed.
Ensuring that programme and portfolio reporting exposes all key issues and risks to delivery.
Lessons learnt are captured and shared across programmes.
