The purpose of the Programme Analyst and Planner role is to assure and analyse portfolio, programme and project plans to isolate dependencies, issues and blockages hindering progress and representing risks to achievement of programme goals. The role will assure and manage all programme plans into a single comprehensive portfolio view covering all activities associated with achieving the required AM capabilities, identifying critical paths through the overall programme roadmap and advising on and facilitating corrective action to increase both pace and traction within programme to increase the likelihood of benefits delivery. The programme has a sizeable portfolio to coordinate. Planning and coordination of the portfolio requires an experienced individual with the appropriate PMO skills and experience. Main Duties: Provide a Programme Management Office function. Define, establish, monitor, and maintain all programme and project control, governance and reporting processes. Assure and guide the production and maintenance of level 1, 2 and 3 programme plans to consistent standards and quality across all projects within AM. Manage the reporting process upwards to the AMT steering group and Corporate PMO to provide programme status dashboards and RAG reporting against agreed programme plans. Manage and maintain the programme assurance registers and logs including risk and issues management, including mitigations. Advise and support Project Managers to ensure that a single common approach to change project and programme management is taken across AM. Identify and proactively manage critical path activities to ensure issues or blockages are actively resolved by facilitation. Ensure that programme reporting exposes all key issues and risks to delivery. Lessons learnt are captured and shared across projects. Analyse the outputs from the assurance process to highlight any gaps or areas that need to be adjusted to achieve the maximum benefit potential. Skills and Experience: 2 years planning experience within a Programme Office environment (PRINCE2 foundation desirable). Ability to take an overview of portfolio information, programme planning and reporting requirements including awareness of company-wide and external impacts and benefits. Experience in analysing and reporting portfolio information. Ability to identify critical paths through a portfolio and develop useful analysis and reports to support the achievement of the priorities. Strong communication, analysis, presentation and reporting skills with an ability to present complex issues and engage with key stakeholders up to senior management level. Ability to coordinate programme and project plans. Ability to deliver against targets and timescales is essential. Strong PC skills, in particular Microsoft Project and advanced Excel. Driving licence is essential.
