
Quality Assurance Lead - Somerset - Competitive
One of the largest energy companies in Europe with key business operations in France, the UK, Germany and Italy requires a Quality Assurance Lead. The Quality Assurance Lead will lead the site assurance function acting at different stages of the development of the integrated management system. You will be responsible for the HPC site quality assurance activities in close relation with the NNB Assurance Department and the Site Construction Teams.
The Quality Assurance Lead will be key in ensuring that a Leaning Organisation is embedded on site.
*The individual will develop the organisation in order to recruit 1 or 2 direct reports as the project evolves.
*The Site Team will increase from 240 people in December 2011 to 1000 people by the horizon 2013, and over 5000 by 2016.
*The set of procedures and instructions to be managed will increase from 100 in November 2011 to 150 by the horizon of 2013.
The Quality Assurance Lead will have a large autonomy in their day-to-day work and will deal with procedures and instructions on very different activities (for example, construction, logistics, HR, security, training, etc).
Whilst the post reports directly to the HPC site Head of Nuclear, Environmental and Site Controls, they will regularly work with and report to the Construction Director responsible for the Assurance on site.
Site Quality Assurance lead will support the NNB Assurance Department which is responsible for defining the policy and standards and will act as the interface with the NNB Independent Assurance Challenge and Oversight (IACO) function.
Degree qualified in a related discipline, with either membership of professional institution or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in the application of ISO9001, ISO 14001 standards in an engineering or industrial context.
Knowledge and experience of implementing of OHSAS18001 and ISO 27001
Previous experience in the nuclear or similarly regulated / licensed industry will be highly valued.
The post holder is accountable to the Head of Nuclear, Environmental and Site Controls in the Site team.
The Quality Assurance Lead will coordinate the development and updating of procedures and instructions of the NNB GenCo management system applicable on site.
Coordinate the development and updating of site assurance instructions, insuring their implementation on all site activities to support a safe working environment and good nuclear, security and environmental governance.
Support and challenge site activities, providing advice and leading investigations, and act as lead technical expert on assurance.
Develop and manage the site surveillance and assessment programme, including self assessments. Control of the surveillance performed by the technical team as part of their quality control activities
Producing routine reports covering planned and non-routine surveillance activities at site. Ensure issues, findings and resolutions are reported through the Site Director and the Safety Directorate in order to identify trends, track progress and encourage the sharing of best practice.
Ensure associated correctional actions are identified, delivered and reported.
Act as the interface between site QA and NNB GenCo assurance, and other corporate or external assessments and QA functions.
The Quality Assurance Lead will ensure that a high standard of health, safety, quality, security and environment management prevails throughout all areas of responsibility and that performance is maintained within parameters defined by the NNB Gen Co Executive.
Site Lead on Nuclear Site Licence Condition 17 and primary interface with ONR for this condition.
Responsible for ensuring Independent Assessment actions are placed and progressed.
Undertake the role of Lead Assessor on site.
