Contracts Manager. Petrol station Refurbishments. Extremely successful civils contractor requires a further permanent Contracts Manager ~ Civil Engineer trained, to supplement the existing team to further develop their business. A lively personality and the ability to work on a multitude of different tasks, whilst planning ahead will make you stand out.
The Focus of Operations is on fast turnaround Civil Engineering schemes of refurbishment work on existing petrol stations. The work will vary from minor variations to complete demolition, clearance and re-instatement of improved facilities with re-branding. Excellent working foremen will be site based to oversee direct labour and nominated sub-contractors.
Contracts Manager, Civil Engineering degree. Degree qualified Civil or Structural Engineer with experience in minor demolition, structural alterations and RC, able to deal confidently and competently with clients and contractors alike. 6-8 years experience working on the contracting side of construction with the ability to provide a non confrontational approach to the clients, very commercially aware; fully IT literate, well versed in current Health & Safety legislation, able to programme and monitor a number of projects, whilst keeping a very keen eye on the commercial aspects; you will have strong oral and written communication skills.
Head Office based, near Wembley, to work on Method Statements, programming and planning you will also be expected to be site based for periods during the project, to supervise operations during certain phases of the job; where your overnight costs will be covered. The schemes are located throughout England, though predominantly in the south.
Project values will be in the £40k to £1.25m range and you will be responsible for up to 5-7 projects running concurrently. Currently the company takes responsibility for all the excavation, drainage, temporary works, structural works, RC and waterproofing, handing the scheme over for fit out by others.
Salary. A negotiable basic of £60-65k with bonus scheme, company car and benefits package. A full and valid driving licence will be needed as will current SMSTS and ideally First Aid certification. Only applicants who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered for the post.
