Surface Mount Team Leader

Summary
Working within your team and reporting to the Production Supervisor; you will be required to facilitate the planning and control of labour resources to optimise the utilisation and productivity of the capital equipment within the manufacturing area.
Ensuring that the product is manufactured in the most cost-effective way and to the required quality standards whilst maintaining customer delivery dates. At all times the Team Leader will be expected to provide assistance to the Production Supervisor and Company Managers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:-
" Responsible for the efficient and timely operation of the SMT lines ensuring works order due dates are met
" Operate the SMT lines
" First Line manager for all personnel issues
" Providing feedback internally and to the appropriate manager regarding problems that may affect Quality, delivery and/or costs to the job
" Ensuring Quality levels conform to company / customer Quality standards and process control
" Provide training in accordance with current training procedures. Using a training matrix maintain accurate training records
" Conducting/attending relevant meetings such as:- Defect reviews, Start-ups, Wash-ups, C.I.T's, Works Order meetings, Production meetings etc.
" Striving to meet zero defects. Investigating, identifying and rectifying issues affecting or likely to affect:
" Identifying, agreeing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators
" Achieving and monitoring specified manufacturing times and investigating if times are not met
" Cultivating a culture of "Continuous Improvement" and "Cost Reduction"
" Ensure and supervise planned equipment maintenance in accordance with company process and / or suppliers instructions
" Manage production documentation packs (green & buff folders)
" Maximise throughput by ensuring relevant materials are in place for the build (e.g PCB's requiring baking are controlled to ensure no hold ups)
Experience
" Relevant experience and proven track record in a SMT Leader role.
" Working in a busy environment
" Multi-tasking control of several products or projects
" Working knowledge of Surface Mount Equipment (ideally DEK, Europlacer and BTU)
" Product revision control
" New Product Introductions
