And right at the heart of them, operating, maintaining, and improving the network - using it more effectively, and helping to shape a brighter future for road users everywhere - is the Highways Agency.
Our Service Delivery team manages the real-time interface with contractors on everything from scheme delivery and routine maintenance, to unplanned events including incident management. We’re looking for two Service Delivery Managers – one with Chartered Engineering or equivalent qualification (plus Programme/Project qualification such as PRINCE 2), and the other with graduate qualification in engineering or equivalent.
Requirements for manager with Chartered Engineering qualification:
• Commercial skills with ability to engage effectively with professional, technical and other service delivery partners at all levels, and with different technical understanding
• Competence in negotiation, able to maximise delivery and achieve best value from suppliers
• Knowledge and understanding of industry best practice in service delivery
• Capability to achieve professional membership or technical qualification in a relevant discipline
• Technical contractual knowledge and experience in the management of a major network infrastructure
• Ability to achieve Programme and Project Management (PPM) Level 2.
Requirements for manager with graduate qualification:
• Ability to engage effectively with professional, technical and other service delivery partners at all levels, and with different technical understanding
• Ability to negotiate and maximise delivery and achieve best value from our suppliers
• Knowledge and understanding of industry best practice in service delivery
• Capability to achieve professional membership or technical qualification in a relevant discipline
• Ability to achieve Programme and Project Management (PPM) Level 2.
