Group Health & Safety Officer

The Myers Group is a family owned group of companies which provides products, services and materials to the construction industry. The operating companies include Johnsons Wellfield Quarries, Readymix Huddersfield, Honley Skip Hire and Naylor Myers. The companies are based in West, South and North Yorkshire with the Head Office situated in Huddersfield. Two separate positions are now available:

Group H&S Officer:

A Group H&S Officer is required (reporting to the Group Business Systems Manager), to undertake, plan, schedule and develop the Group H&S activities. This would include assisting in the onward development and writing of group systems, manuals and safe working procedures in line with BS OHSAS 18001 requirements, as well as undertaking H&S training, audits, risk assessments and accident investigations, highlighting areas of continual improvement and liaising with all operational managers accordingly. The successful applicant would also be required to assist in the wider development and implementation of the Group Quality & Environmental systems and procedures and undertake administration duties for aspects of the Group Business Systems.

Applicants should hold all relevant H&S qualifications for working in a quarry and within construction environments and should be able to demonstrate experience in these areas, so as to bring a practical approach to the job.
