Role Summary/Purpose
An opportunity has arisen for a proactive individual to join our clients expanding Power Systems Engineering team. Reporting to the Section Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design of power system solutions on MV & LV power and drive system projects across our Offshore, Naval and Industry businesses.
Essential Responsibilities
"Work as part of a multi-disciplined team to deliver full systems, including power generation, distribution, variable speed drives and motors. Ensuring the design meets customer, contract and regulatory requirements.
"Produce and maintain technical specifications and contract design documentation.
"Plan and progress design, test and commissioning activities.
"Assist in improve the efficiency of engineering processes, through development and use of standard engineering solutions.
"Liaise with other company units, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors in order to support the development of system designs.
"Provide technical advice and assistance to tendering, commissioning and service teams.
Qualifications/Requirements
"The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or related power subjects.
"Previous experience within a similar role is essential. Candidates must have prior project experience of one or more of the following areas: electrical power generation and distribution systems, LV and MV synchronous generators, induction and synchronous motors, variable speed drive control systems, power system control and protection.
"We are looking for individuals who are able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and who have a flexible approach to work in order to meet tight deadlines.
"Due to the nature of the role a willingness to travel within the UK and overseas for short durations is also a requirement.
