Senior Hydrologist

Following successes on the Environment Agency flood risk modelling framework, British Waterways framework and the award of a number of surface water management studies, my client`s Water Management and Marine team currently has an exciting opportunity for a Principal / Senior Hydrologist to lead the discipline on a day-to-day basis. Working as Senior Hydrologist you will support an existing team of hydrologists and river modellers ranging from graduates to Technical Directors level based over a number of locations. The team has a proven track record of delivering flood risk management and water resource projects at a local and national scale for a range of clients from the private and public sectors. The role will be to lead on flood hydrology (in particular FEH assessments), contribute to water resources investigations and impact assessments. You will need to demonstrate detailed hydrological knowledge, with the ability to understand and challenge model results, and to provide training, leadership and guidance to junior team members. Good report writing skills and organisational skills are also essential. Requirements - Degree in appropriate analytical subject (e.g. Geography, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Civil Engineering) - Significant experience in FEH and hydrological assessments, including ReFH software. Good GIS skills. Finding the right candidate is very important to us hence the flexibility on location but ideally you should be close to key offices of Cardiff, Exeter, Birmingham, Guildford or Bristol.
