Site, Project or Section Engineers x 2, with a desire to progress into management for a Groundworks & RC frame Contractor. Winning additional work in this demanding and growing sector this Contractor is keen to take on 2 additional Engineers to run new work. Project sizes vary from £400k to £8m, mainly in the London and south-east area.
The Role. Initially covering all the setting out work for Groundworks, Excavation, Drainage, Temporary Works and RC sub-structural work. You must have a good understanding and comprehension of Construction and Engineering drawings, be able to work on and fulfil basic site paperwork, keep a vigilant and responsible eye on the Health & Safety aspects.
Initially 50/50 field/site office work, programming, method statements, risk assessments, call offs, RFI’s, keeping daily records and reports, QA/QC files and diaries. The duties will change as the projects kick off and setting out Engineers will do the field work and your role will become more supervisory.
The Contracts Manager will do the overall programming, Method statements, Risk Assessments and client liaison; though you will be expected to contribute to their day to day progress. You will oversee junior Engineers and site staff.
You need to be a capable Civil Engineer, ideally Degree level, with good written and oral skills, IT literate and preferably a car driver to access various sites if required. Minimum qualifications are a current CSCS card, whilst SMSTS and First Aid certificates would be an advantage. You will have worked for recognised RC frame and Groundworks contractors and be hungry to proceed. You will also be expected to run the Engineering on site. A good working knowledge of D&B would be advantageous.
A negotiable salary package of £40 - 42,500 with a company vehicle or allowance and package is available.
