A multi-disciplinary consultancy currently has a requirement for a Project Planner to join their project team, based both in the office in Basingstoke (Hampshire) and with clients in the London region (thus flexibility to travel to the city is a must).
Our client is a multinational consultancy with offices across the globe. Due to the formation of a new division and an explosion of recent project wins, our client is currently seeking two Planners to work on a wide variety of schemes. They can offer the opportunity to get involved on a range of projects from rail and civil engineering to IT systems within prisons to advising on mergers and acquisitions.
This is a fantastic opportunity to break into planning within a mainstream consultancy environment; perhaps you're stuck in a role with little training or future prospects or looking to move away from an IT or strategic role into a more "hands on", delivery position...this role would suit you. Our client can provide full training and a likely timescale of circa two years to management level, depending on which career route you would like to follow (for example, Planning Manager, PMO Manager, Project Manager, etc).
The role will involve working in a dedicated planning team with duties including creating and maintaining detailed project programmes (1000+ activities), monitoring progress, progress reporting, critical path analysis, resource planning, etc with MS Project being the main software used. This is a client facing role and thus will involve occasional travel.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following experience:
- Previous planning experience, any sector acceptable and at least 2 years (absolute minimum, ideally more).
- Worked on programmes running at least circa 1000 activities.
- Proficient with MS Project is essential.
- Flexible to travel between Basingstoke and London.
- Degree educated would be advantageous.
- Personable, positive individual (this is a client facing role).
- Eligible to work in the UK.
In return, our client will offer a basic salary of up to £35,000 per annum plus pension, 25 days holiday, business mileage and various other flexi benefits (please note there is no car/travel allowance available at this level, just expenses to sites).
