Our client is a Western Australian based major civil construction contractor. Internationally accredited for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards they have a fantastic reputation for their project delivery and management systems. They have hundreds of employees engaged in high risk environments around resources and civil infrastructure projects across Australia.
We are currently enagaged to identify suitably qualified and highly experienced health, safety and environment professionals on their behalf. And the opportunity will be open to both local and international candidates with a suitable background. For international candidates a relocation assistance package is provided.
The role will require you to have come from a high risk environment yourself, perhaps mining, oil & gas or a form of major construction.
You will work within the HSE team providing a service to the projects within the business. Typically these are large bulk earthworks, road construction, land development, pipelines, marine construction or structures contracts based in remote areas of Western Australia.
You will report to the Site PM and will represent the contractor team for the HSE aspects of the Project and liaise with the Client's HSE Department, developing good client relationships;
Participating in conducting Behavioural Observations on site so as to identify safe and at-risk behaviours in the workplace and provides advice to all areas of operation in the fields of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment. Such information includes knowledge of Acts, Legislation, Codes of Practice ,industry standards and other technical guidance;
You will ensure adherence and continuous improvement of the Health, Safety and Environment Management Plan and report on performance to the project manager and the Client.
You will be the site based driver for the implementation of corporate HSE programs and initiatives under the guidance of the Group HSE Manager.
