Project Engineer / Manager, Civil Engineering background, 5-7 years UK site experience working for contractors in deep basements and heavy RC work, with associated temporary works, RC frame over. Paddington. Excellent potential. £55-60,000.
Experienced Senior Engineer or Project Manager from a Civil Engineering background. Complex new build residential scheme incorporating a deep basement and RC frame over. Initially there is a complicated deep piling operation with a large muck away operation and a considerable quantity of temporary works involved to maintain structural integrity.
The Project involves site clearance and demolition, piling and excavation to create a deep basement, sub structural and RC frame concrete to allow for the creation of 2/ 3 basement levels within a tight footprint. Ground floor slab and RC frame over.
Principal contractor’s role. You will be expected to be a leader and provide considerable Engineering input using your experience from similar projects. Enabling works will start soon and you will be site based as you prepare all the relevant Method statements, Risk Assessments and Programmes, supervising and co-ordinating the trade specific subcontractors. You may need to do basic levels and setting out to maintain site control initially.
A Civil Engineering degree is preferred. Ideally with 5-7 years experience working in a similar role for a UK or London based contractor. Experience in all aspects of demolition, excavation, underpinning, temporary works, shoring, RC basements, sub- and super-structural RC are all relevant.
The role will either suit someone who has previously run similar schemes as a No 1 or is currently a No 2 who is ready to take on greater responsibility. You must have considerable drive and determination; the ability to work with people at all levels is important.
You will be required to work to short and medium term programmes, organise the site activities on a day to day basis, maintain strong H&S standards. You must be IT literate and able to communicate clearly in oral and written communication with a wide range of site and visiting personnel.
Remuneration is in the region of £55 to 60,000; however this is negotiable based on your current experience and work history. Excellent career and promotion prospects available for the right person. CSCS essential, SMSTS and First Aid an advantage.
