Design Manager - Water - Birmingham

A national Civil Engineering and Utilities contractor providing a bespoke service on various water industry projects.
The Role
As Design Manager you will provide design management solutions on a major water projects.
You will act as the link between pre-construction and delivery team as well as any external sub-contractors and consultants.
This role will be combining the previous roles of Project Engineering and Proposals Engineer into one single role.
Functionally reporting to the Technical Director (through the Project Development Manager).
You will be responsible for the full preparation of tenders under the overall management of a Bid Manager and, following contract award, go on to manage the engineering design process throughout project delivery, and all the engineering design interface issues during construction and commissioning under the overall management of a Project Manager.
Requirements
To be considered for this Design Manager post you must meet the following criteria:
-A demonstrable track record in a project engineering/tendering role within a process environment.
-Project experience specifically on live works (tender experience would be advantageous but not essential).
-Experience in water sector projects.
-A relevant degree or equivalent industry qualification.
-Proven communication skills, and competence in Microsoft Office packages.
-The role will be based at their Birmingham Office, with travel as required to sites and client offices.
Remuneration
The successful Design Manager will receive:
-Up to £43,000 Basic Salary (dependent on experience)
