Leading main contractor seeks experienced and capable SQS to work on a variety of civil engineering projects and schemes across the south coast.
Due to an increase in my client’s volume of work, they are looking to appoint a commercially strong professional; able to build solid relationships, whilst effectively managing contracts with clients and sub-contractors alike.
Projects include highways term maintenance, plus general civils including water and rail.
Your key tasks will include, but not limited to:
- Negotiating contract terms with clients and sub-contractors
- Interim applications and final accounts
- Identification of variations and claims
- Working closely with internal stakeholders, including the operations and design teams
- Regular commercial reviews of current and prospective contracts
- Internal reporting
Ideally, you hold a degree in quantity surveying and membership of a relevant professional body. You will have experience working on a variety of civil engineering schemes and projects, plus extensive knowledge of contract forms, including NEC, ICE and bespoke.
Experience in highways, roads and term maintenance contracts will be looked upon favourably.
You will be an excellent negotiator, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients. You will be confident in managing others, including a small team of Assistant and Freelance QS’s.
