Ideally the successful candidate will have career aspirations of becoming Lean Six Sigma Belt certified as this organisation are looking to train the successful candidate to this level.
This company is looking to develop the capabilities of external suppliers to continuously achieve the specification requirements of the organisation . As a core member of the procurement department your success is driven by your proven track record in Lean six sigma DMAIC methodologies. Strong networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Communication and liaison with the business process owners to identify specific issues affecting business performance that are attributable to supplier performance, and work with the suppliers to develop permanent solutions to each failure mode.
Conduct detailed trend analysis on supplier performance against the key areas of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Lead Time, Process capability and Process Efficiency (Value Added / Non-Value Added Flow Analysis). Identify negative trends of performance and develop action plans with suppliers for improvement
Work within the supplier Chain and through the Value Streams to identify and develop performance improvement opportunities and business cases for improvement. Manage the implementation of solutions.
Project Manage supply chain Continuous Improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodologies and act as the interface between Supplier and the organisations processes.
Develop benefits reporting systems to ensure that the project benefits documented within the project deliverables of the Project Charter are recorded, achieved and maintained over the stated benefits period.
Provide Training, Coaching and Mentoring of staff within the supply chain, at all levels, on Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement techniques, supporting the implementation of Yellow, Green and Black Belt certification processes into the supply chain.
Develop "Project Gateway" reports on improvement initiatives to all levels of the business
Lead the on-going development of the capability of suppliers in the key areas of:
Process Capability Analysis - Identify and implement of Statistical Process Control opportunities, Interpret results and develop solutions in conjunction with suppliers, to achieve improved Cp and Cpk values.
Measurement Systems Analysis - Assess the capability of supplier measuring equipment and measure the Repeatability and Reproducibility of equipment using Six Sigma Measurement System Analysis techniques
Cycle Time Reduction - Use Value Stream Analysis to identify Non-Value Added activities with current state supplier processes. Identify activities to remove Non-Value added activities to reduce the cycle time of supplier processes
New Product Introduction - Manage the PPAP approval processes of new suppliers, products, systems or processes
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis - Use FMEA techniques to identify Risk areas within supplier process and systems. Work with suppliers on action plans to negate risk within their processes
Design For Manufacture - liaise between supplier, Engineering dept and Operations dept to identify opportunities to re-design sub-components / sub-assemblies to support ease of manufacture at the organisation.
Conducts audits on suppliers in line with the Supplier Quality System Standards, provide results of findings and work with supplier and development of action plans for improvement
Set-up and maintain systems for the on-going assessment of suppliers via Process Performance Measurement, without the need for continuous audit. Develop data management and reporting systems with suppliers.
Develop and implement effective Process Management systems within the supply chain via the use of Process Control Plans, to eliminate both on site inspections at suppliers by my clients staff, as well as the need for Goods Inwards Inspection of product upon receipt.
Work with the buying team to schedule activities to suit the needs of the business. This will include the use of Visual Management techniques to ensure clarity of communication.
