Leading a specialist team of Contract Administrators, you will deliver robust processes that ensure the effective management of over £300m worth of commercial contracts in the water industry. This includes delivering accurate budget and cost information, contract notices and payments and valuations as well as resolving commercial disputes and claims.
Please note candidates MUST have the NEC contract exposure - as this is critical to the role.
Requirements:
Degree level commercial qualification (e.g. RICS) or other relevant qualification.
Proven experience in a Senior Commercial or Contract Management role in water or similar industry.
Excellent leadership, project management, commercial, communication and influencing skills.
Experience of commercial procurement and contract management, and supply chain management / collaboration.
Strong knowledge of industry forms of contract (such as IChemE, NEC).
Strategic, forward thinking and ability to take an overview of business requirements.
Persuasive and convincing presentation skills.
Strong ability to understand commercial and financial aspects of projects.
Strong IT skills.
Ability to deliver against targets and timescales is essential.
Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and timely budget and cost information using developed management information and reports.
Ensure that payment applications are assessed, valuations undertaken and certificates reviewed for accuracy and legitimacy.
Support the Project Managers in the identification, quantification and mitigation of risks.
Work in liaison with the Contractors and the Project Managers to agree Target Costs or Fixed Prices depending on the agreed form of contract.
Verify and record costs using techniques such as Earned Value and cash flow analysis.
Support the Senior Project Managers and provide cost information for contract review meetings and Steering Groups.
Coordinate the resolution of commercial disputes or claims brought by Contractors using an approach of dispute avoidance`.
Manage the project costs through to and including agreement of the final account.
Coordinate the change control and change management process for commercial activities and support the same at project/programme level.
Ensure there is a focus within the team of identification and achievement of targets, milestones and KPIs.
Visit site activities as required to undertake cost verification.
Complete management information requirements to support timely and accurate reporting regime within the department.
Build strong and effective working relationships with contractors, etc.
