About the Client
My client is one of the world’s leading construction groups with expertise in construction, development of commercial and residential projects and public-private partnerships.
They carry out every aspect of the construction, development and infrastructure process - from design right through to facilities management. They have specialist skills ranging from piling and foundations, through mechanical and electrical engineering and steel decking, to civil engineering and utilities work.
They work both in the private and public sectors, including PFI and PPP.
They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Site Engineer
Job Purpose
To manage and control all aspects of on site engineering and structural safety in relation to private commercial building projects during pre-construction and construction phases. To work within a team environment to ensure engineering matters are managed on time and within budget, with attention to safety and quality, whilst enhancing our reputation with external clients and work colleagues
Principle Duties & Accountabilities
Develop good working relationships with consultants, sub-contractors and external parties to ensure a collaborative approach to engineering matters
Make line managers at all relevant levels aware of key issues and solutions in a proactive manner
Provision of reports and progress information to senior project management
Take responsibility for site engineering impact on project budgets
Work with the team to develop and maintain an integrated project programme,
Provide suitable bid support at tender stage
Take a proactive role in the development of Engineering best practice as required at an OU and BU level
To provide support and development of trainee and graduate level staff
Key Working Relationships
Subject to the nature of the project
Supervising Responsibility for: Project and assistant engineers
Internal – Project management team, commercial and design teams, site personnel and supply chain
External – Clients, Consultants, sub-contractors and key stakeholders
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications Required
ICE Chartered Engineer
Experience of Site Engineering on commercial, private sector building projects with values greater than £25m
