Due to continued growth and expansion there are multiple opportunities for mechanical design engineers to join this successful off-road vehicle manufacturer in Cheadle, Staffordshire. The company is involved with the design, development, production and support of a broad variety of off road vehicles and machines for use within the agricultural, construction and off-road arenas.
You will be joining a multi-skilled engineering team that includes design, development and test engineers with mechanical, electrical and electronics backgrounds. The teams are involved with whole vehicle design as well as mechanical systems and components.
As mechanical design engineer you will be involved with whole vehicle projects likely to be both new concept and sustainment projects and activities. This will include working from specification, 3D modelling and analysis, through to detailed design, prototype build, NPI, BOM's, engineering change and support of products.
The ideal candidate would be a proven design engineer with a background or interest in agricultural vehicle design and would have a passion for engineering, design innovation and a desire to be 'hands-on' involved in projects from conception to completion. If not agricultural then my client will consider engineers with knowledge of military vehicles, automotive, commercial off-highway vehicles, special purpose machinery, construction or mining machinery / vehicles etc.

Skills / Knowledge Required:
oIdeally HND / Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant subject (e.g. mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering, automotive engineering, vehicle design, etc)
oProven mechanical design ability involving whole vehicle projects (my client will consider a wide variety of experience levels)
oProven design ability using high end 3D CAD tools (e.g. Unigraphics NX4, Catia V5, Solidworks, ProE)
oCompetent with detailed design, documentation and engineering change processes
oStrong communication skills with a good team working ethic
oAble to take ownership and organise own projects and work packages
Beneficial (others):
oAs above agricultural vehicle design would be preferred however if not agricultural then my client will consider engineers with knowledge of military vehicles, Automotive, commercial off-highway vehicles, construction or mining machinery / vehicles, capital equipment or special purpose machinery etc.
oAn interest in agricultural machinery and equipment or a background working with or using such machinery would be useful
