Senior Civil / Structural Engineer

My client is one of the UK's largest and most diverse multidisciplinary consultancies. Presently they are seeking Senior Civil Structural Engineer for their Infrastructure / Civil Engineering sector in West Sussex to work on a range of roads and rail projects. Working on a number of high profile exciting infrastructure projects, the successful applicant will have substantial experience in the design of rail and road related structures (bridges, retaining structures, cut and cover tunnels, stations, etc). You will be providing design services on a variety of major infrastructure projects in the highway, rail and tunnelling sectors within the UK as well as internationally. You will be responsible for managing design teams and mentoring junior staff while driving the business unit forward
Essential requirement for this role are: Civil engineering related degree, BEng level minimum or equivalent: Chartered (ICE or IStructE) The ability to demonstrate technical experience in the detailed design of one or more of the following: bridges, stations, heavy civil engineering structures such as station boxes, cut and cover tunnels, immersed tunnels, etc. Good working knowledge of CDM requirements. Experience of planning design work and managing programme and budgets for design tasks. Team player with good interpersonal skills. Full UK driving licence.
An experience of working with Contractors on design and build projects useful. Experience of designing to Eurocodes: Understanding of the Highway Agency / DMRB design and technical approval processes: Understanding of NR and / or LUL design and technical approval processes and experience of operating within quality management procedures are all desirable)
Salary circa £35-£45K plus usual benefits associated with a high profile British company
