The Client
Our client is a dynamic multidisciplinary design & build main contractor operating throughout the high rise residential, luxury hotel and commercial markets. They are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager for logistically complex city centre schemes. The company prides itself on its can do attitude which is largely achieved through it's use of direct labour together with the extensive in-house manufacturing capacity.
The Role
The Project Manager's role is to be fully responsible for the Health and Safety, co-ordination of all site disciplines, managing the design and ultimately delivering a quality job on programme. Further responsibilities include recruitment of direct staff and verification of their qualifications, overseeing the procurement process with the commercial department as well as the management of the direction of labour, plant and material.
The candidate
Able to demonstrate a successful portfolio of successfully delivered schemes at £10+m it would be desirable for you to have completed projects with basements and / or complex structural elements through to Cat a Fit Out.
Experience in running £10m+ projects whilst working for a main contractor
Managing Design Teams - through the use of Information Release Schedules / RFI schedules
Managing a full site team of Construction managers; section managers; engineers; quantity surveyors
Producing programmes - long term / short term / detailed including the ability to report against any slippages / gains
Managing Subcontract and direct labour workforces
Correct requisitioning of materials and subcontractors
Leading project meetings; attending all client meetings; and client facing in all aspects
Delivering quality finished end product, to time and to budget
Building high value projects, which include high-class residential experience.
The right candidates will be commercially aware and will exhibit extensive knowledge of all disciplines involved in the construction process including design co-ordination, quantity surveying and procurement. Also they must be able to display a planned and proven career path and have thorough knowledge of H&S procedures. Degree in construction related studies would be an advantage.
