My client, a large contractor is urgently seeks to recruit an experienced Claims Manager who has experience of drafting claims. The project is based in Malaysia and is a large civils / infrastructure project and previous experience of this type of project is preferred. The project is now in delay and my client needs someone who has the experience to analyse the information and circumstances surrounding the project and who is able to lead the process of compiling a significant claims. The successful candidate will join an established project team and must have experience of compiling, drafting and presenting high value claims on major projects. You are likely to have a Degree in Quantity Surveying and likely to be Chartered (MRICS or MCIOB or similar) plus possibly be MCIArb qualified. You should have more than ten years' experience in drafting claims with a good previous career as a contractor's quantity surveyor. This role will initially be for a period of 18 months but may be extended depending on progress with the project. Salary is slightly negotiable but is around £80 - 90K (paid in local currency and subject to local taxation) and accommodation is provided, plus car and fuel, pension and one flight home per year, single or married status.
