The devastating earthquake in February had a major impact on the city of Christchurch and New Zealandas a whole. The rebuild is slowly finding its feet and this major contractor is getting things moving both in commercial construction. Having already increased the size of their team in Christchurch they are now looking for additional professionals to join the team in the immediate future.

The work revolves around the reconstruction of commercial and properties around the city and so relevant experience in this field is invaluable. Much of the work is going through the assessment and consents stage with some construction due to start in the next few weeks. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience at Project Manager Level and be comfortable working between office and site. Other desirable skills and experience include;

    • A degree or equivalent tertiary qualification relating to construction

    • A practical understanding of either residential or commercial construction

    • A proven track record of project success within the sector

    • An excellent health and safety track record

    • Great man management skills

    • One hell of a sense of humour (it's a tough environment inChristchurch)

You will be in direct contact with a shaken public and so good communication skills, a sympathetic ear and a sense of humour are vital for this role. This is an opportunity to secure a position within one of New Zealand's premier construction companies.
