A multinational consultant engineering and environment business is looking for a Graduate Civil or Structural Engineer. The company cover numerous facets throughout the civil and structural sector all of which are based around the production of specific design work. The successful candidate will be based in Surrey in a vibrant and driven office.
The main focus of the Graduate Civil or Structural Engineer's job will be to assist in providing cost effective technical solutions considering the needs of key stakeholders to the budget and programme agreed, whilst working within one or more project design teams within a section working on a variety of pedestrian, highway and rail bridges, gantries and other civil engineering structures.
The candidate will also be expected to liaise with engineers from other disciplines, architects, quantity surveyors, external consultants, construction engineers, manufacturers, suppliers or contractors to ensure correct design and successful implementation of projects.
The successful candidate must be educated to degree level or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering with 3-5 years post graduate experience and working towards becoming chartered (ICE or IStructE). Also, you will be able to demonstrate qualification and experience in the design of civil structures and buildings, the use of structural analysis and design software utilising steel, concrete and masonry. Working knowledge of Eurocodes, client liaison and key account management/relationship development combined with the ability to generate and technically review reports.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with and manage project teams where necessary acting as a lead designer demonstrating the ability to work to deadlines, within budget and to programme, to control costs and the effectively manage resources and change control. Knowledge of the LUL and Network Rail approvals procedures would be an advantage.
