Further information

Christchurch continues to be the hub of civil activity in New Zealand with much of the work related to the earthquake rebuild. The latest figures of infrastructure to be replaced or repaired includes 900km of road, 300km of sewer and 125km of water mains; plenty of work to keep most contractors busy for a long time to come. To keep up with this workload my client is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Project Manager to join their already established team.

As one of the leading contractors in both the North and South Island my client already has a significant number of contracts underway or due to start but with further work on the horizon they need to increase the leadership capability of their team.

As a Senior Project Manager you will have a significant amount of experience in the civil and infrastructure industry. The most significant areas of rebuild will be road and water related but other areas of civil work will also be under pressure and so a wide experience is desirable. Work will vary in size so those with varied experience will be ideally suited to this role.

As Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project including finances, programming, sub-contractors and materials and will report regularly into senior management on progress. You will have a proven track record of maintaining excellent client relationships with private, local council and government authorities. Other ideal attributes include;

  • An industry related degree or equivalent
  • Experience of MS Project and other relevant programmes
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Great man management
  • A desire to succeed and a great sense of humour

As the successful candidate you will command an excellent salary as part of a larger package in line with your skills and experience. There is an aim to fill the role as soon as possible but it is appreciated that the successful applicant may have to serve some notice with a current employer or secure a visa if moving from overseas.

If this role appeals to you then send a detailed and up to date CV stating relevant projects and experience to Phil Ponder via the apply link below. I look forward to receiving your application and speaking with you soon.
