The Role
URS is one of the world’s leading engineering and environmental consultants, offering professional planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction and programme and construction management services throughout the UK and internationally. We currently have an opening for a Senior Geophysicist to join our team in Nottingham.
As a Senior Geophysicist in our Nottingham office you will undertake, manage and lead geophysical investigations of individual sites and/or linear road/rail assets both in the UK and Abroad. This role will see you involved with the collection and interpretation of geophysical data as well as the management if projects and less experienced team members. This position will also include some business development both with external clients and internally within other sectors of the organisation.
The successful applicant will hold a relevant Degree/MSc/PhD and have significant experience of geophysical data collection and analysis, primarily including Seismics (including MASW and down hole), but also GPR, Resistivity Imaging, Microgravity, Conductivity and Magnetometry. Experience of carrying our over water surveys is preferred as is previous success at managing people and projects. This role will also require you to drive on behalf of the company and so a valid UK driving licence is essential.

Education/Qualifications/Experience
5-10years relevent experience
Experience of geophysical data collection and analysis, primarily including Seismics (including MASW and down hole), but also GPR, Resistivity Imaging, Microgravity, Conductivity, Magnetometry. Experience of over water surveys also prefereble.
Experience of managing people and projects
