Job Description Buxted Construction is one of the leading Groundworks and Civil Engineering Contractors, working for the majority of the major house builders who operate in the Home counties.
You will be based in the office with regular visits to site.
Initially, you will learn measurement by preparing Bills of Quantities from tender drawings.
You will then learn how to derive rates and hence the price for each section of work.
You will then carry out on site measurement of subcontract work and agree payments.
You will learn how to carry out all the surveying duties for a site including, letting subcontracts, liaising with the Client, submitting valuations and agreeing variations.
As you gain experience you will become solely responsible for running several sites and reporting to the Surveying Director.

Requirements University graduate with 2:1 or better in Engineering/Construction/Surveying/Science type degree course, with good A-levels, including maths.
Clean Driving License
Any previous knowledge and experience of construction is advantageous. Enthusiastic, individual, keen to learn and apply new skills and prepared to work hard and take on responsibility of running their own projects.
This is a very demanding role in a successful company, working in a very competitive market with tight margins. Extra effort is required to ensure that projects remain profitable.
