Senior/Project Engineer to run a new project near Battersea. Must have a Civil Engineering degree and 3-4 years site experience. Structural Refurbishment of existing buildings with added extension work. £2.5m. Good organisational and communication skills are essential.
The Project. A scheme to enable the safe construction of 5 no. basements below 3 no. Grade 2 listed warehouses and 2 no. brown field sites adjoining the existing buildings. The work requires approval from Heritage and Network Rail organizations prior to construction works being allowed to progress. 34 week programme.
The Role. To include Method Statements, Risk Assessments and all the Setting out work for all aspects of Excavation, Groundworks, Mini Piling, Drainage, Temporary Works and RC sub-structural work. You must have a good understanding and comprehension of Construction and Engineering drawings, be able to work on and fulfil basic site paperwork, keep a vigilant and responsible eye on the Health & Safety aspects. The role will involve 80-85% field work and approx 15% site office work, keeping daily records and reports, QA/QC files and basic reporting.
The Contracts Manager will do the overall programming and client liaison, though you will be expected to contribute to the day to day progress. Raising RFI’s, calling off materials, seeking clarity on proposals from the Architect and Designers; you will also be expected to run the site, working with a foreman or ganger. A good working knowledge of D&B principles would be advantageous.
Ideally Degree qualified in Civil Engineering. You need to be a capable Civil Engineer with good written and oral skills, IT literate and ideally a car driver to access various sites if required; assistance with ongoing or further training may be available. Minimum qualifications are a current CSCS card, whilst SMSTS and First Aid certificates would be an advantage.
A negotiable salary package of £37,500 to 42,500 with a company package is available. Applications will only be considered if you are legally entitled to live and work in the UK.
