The events in Christchurchare well documented as is the impact the earthquakes had on New Zealand's 3rd largest city. Over the past year and a half much of the focus has been keeping infrastructure and utilities running but as the city looks forward so the focus turns to rebuilding and replacement. As estimated $3billion dollars will be spent on putting the infrastructure back together and this contractor will be at the heart of that workload.
Established over 50 years ago this contractor works throughoutNew Zealandon a range of civil projects. Areas of specialism include drainage, road construction, piling, earthworks and structures and their workload inChristchurchis incorporating all of these and more. As Senior Civil Estimator you will head up a small team of junior estimators and quantity surveyors within the Christchurch Branch. Your experience will be utilised on an array of projects within theCanterburyregion ranging in both size and discipline.
You will already have a proven track record as an estimator working for a civil contractor for a minimum of 10 years. Your background can either be as an engineer or quantity surveyor and your experience can be in one specific civil discipline or more general. Other desirable attributes include;
- A degree or equivalent industry related qualification
- A track record of success as a civil estimator
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- Experience of running and mentoring a small team
- Sense of humour and a winning attitude
As we head into the new civil season (September/October) then it is hoped to have the successful applicant on board sooner than later. However there is a desire to get the right person and so there is flexibility on start date to fit with individual circumstances. The successful applicant will be offered an excellent salary as part of a larger package.
