Christchurch continues to be the hub of civil activity in New Zealand but not all of this work is related to the earthquake. A significant amount of work, both maintenance and construction, is planned for the region and in most cases this is carrying on regardless. To keep up with the workload my client is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Project Manager to join their already established team.
As one of the leading contractors in both the North and South Island my client already has a significant number of contracts underway or due to start but with further work on the horizon they need to increase the leadership capability of their team.
As a Senior Project Manager you will have a significant amount of experience inNew Zealand primarily in the roading sector working on government and local authority maintenance or construction projects. Your understanding of NZTA projects will be invaluable in this position and will lead to the smooth completion of future projects on time and on budget. Outside of highways work, any experience of drainage and general infrastructure work will be a huge bonus, allowing your skills to be utilised on a wider variety of work.
As Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project including finances, programming, sub-contractors and materials and will report regularly into senior management on progress. You will have a proven track record of maintaining excellent client relationships with local council and government authorities and ideally will already have an already established list of contacts in this area. Other ideal attributes include;
- An industry related degree or equivalent
- Experience of MS Project and other relevant programmes
- Excellent organisational skills
- Great man management
- A desire to succeed and a great sense of humour
As the successful candidate you will command an excellent salary as part of a larger package in line with your skills and experience. There is an aim to fill the role as soon as possible but it is appreciated that the successful applicant will have to serve some notice with a current employer.
If this role appeals to you then send a detailed and up to date CV stating relevant projects and experience to Phil Ponder via the apply link below. I look forward to receiving your application and speaking with you soon.
