Estimator – Intermediate level. To work on RC and Groundworks projects. Established for 20 years, this contractor is well known in their sector. Using Conquest you will be required to carry out take-offs from drawings, work on Bills of Quantities and price the projects. You should be able to deal directly with Clients, Suppliers and Site personnel, reporting to a Commercial Manager.
Projects are mainly in London and the South-East. Requirement is for an intermediate level Estimator to work on existing schemes where prices are required then on to numerous enquiries that are coming in.
The scope of works typically include minor demolition, site enabling, preparation and remediation works, mini-piling, groundbeams, groundworks and drainage, the build generally of RC frame construction, with some elements of precast.
Ideally we are looking for an Estimator who is formally qualified, though the most important feature is that you have a good mathematical brain, are switched on and are commercially aware and self-motivated. You must be fully IT literate, able to clearly communicate your workings and prices to the rest of the team, able to programme and monitor a number of projects, keeping a very keen eye on the commercial side.
The location of these projects and the location of Head office would probably suit applicants with easy access to north London; however candidates who are interested in this role but live in alternative locations may also apply for consideration.
You will ideally have at least 3 to 4 years relevant Estimating experience, preferably working for a contractor who works in Groundworks, RC or similar; with checkable references from previous employers.
Salary is £45-50,000, though this is negotiable. Only people who are legally permitted to live and work in the UK will be considered.
