Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor
Our client is a large firm of chartered quantity surveyors and project management consultants. They are now seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant to join their office in Toronto, Canada. They would prefer a candidate who already has a VISA to work in Canada or who is currently in Canada. You will act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met through the delivery of a value added cost management services. You will work on construction projects of various sizes and values for a range of building type projects. You should have experience of conducting feasibility studies, report writing, applying value management techniques to the project, managing estimating and cost planning activities and being able to present the final cost plan to the client. You will manage the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively. You will ensure that post contract cost variances and change control processes are management. Ensure that cost checking and valuations are management effectively. Ensure the production of monthly post contract cost reports and present to the client. Deal with value engineering and life cycle costing. Negotiate final accounts. Managing a team when required. You should ideally have a Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics of similar subject and be either MRICS or similarly qualified. Local knowledge is preferred.
