SENIOR TRACK ENGINEER
Overall Responsibilities (purpose and objectives):
A well known International Railway consultancy is looking for a Senior Track expert to provide technical expertise to fellow employees and clients for track and roadway maintenance and construction matters. The Senior Track Engineer will act as a team member or as a periodic resource for proposals and studies that concern Civil/Track Engineering issues. Consistently on the lookout for consulting opportunities for the Company both inside and outside of the Civil Engineering field.
Acts as a resource for all queries of a Civil Engineering nature, particularly those concerning track. Endeavors to research information if issue is outside of specific experience.
Contributes to the development of proposals and studies. Therefore, knowledge of various softwares is essential. Prepares quantities and cost estimates. Works alone or in team on these projects and is able to communicate ideas verbally and in written form. Gives periodic updates of the status and progress to supervisors of all projects involved with.
The opportunity to travels overseas to research information required for projects or to act as an on-site Civil/Track Engineering Specialist or Project Manager for, at times, up to several weeks or months.
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from a Canadian university.
Experience (minimum and desired):
Several years experience with increasing responsibility in Track, Civil or Construction Engineering positions with a railway or consulting firm. Worked on a minimum of four railway projects throughout career Metro, Light Rail, Heavy Haul or Freight
Personal and Other Qualifications:
Good communication skills and possesses some negotiation ability.
Language Requirements: English and French
