THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor who is ideally MRICS or similarly qualified to join our client, to work on a range of property types in the commercial, residential and education sectors in Birmingham.

THE CLIENT

The client is a large UK wide firm of multi disciplinary consultants offering a wide range of clients and opportunities for promotion.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to have a Degree or Diploma in Building Surveying and ideally be MRICS or equivalent with around three years or more building surveying experience having worked as a building surveyor on a range of property.

You should have experience of dealing directly with clients and ensuring that projects are completed on budget and to schedule.

You will advise clients on schemes and projects and do specifications and client requirements.

You will need experience of preparing scheme designs with costings, programmes for the completion of projects and specification of works.

Also organising documents for tender and advising on contractors, designers and the procurement route.

You will be able to determine the condition of buildings, identifying and analysing defects and deal with proposals for repair.

You will also deal with energy efficiency and environmental impact and sustainable construction.

You will also deal with historic buildings and their conservation.

You will deal with planning applications and assess buildings to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

You will instruct on construction design and management regulations.

You will negotiate dilapidations and carry out feasibility studies etc.

Salary around £35000 plus car allowance, pension, and many other benefits.
