Your new company
Your new company is a small family business based in the Elgin area working as a main contractor on housing and public sectors clients. They are also involved as a sub contractor to public sector, contractors and clients. Due to an increased work load and pipeline of work a Contracts Manager is needed on a permanent basis to supplement this.
Your new role
The focus of your job as a assistant operations manager will be to work alongside the operations director ensuring that site operations run smoothly and efficiently in order to maintain margins and deliver high spec finish to each construction project. In order to do this you will be involved in commercial, project planning, procurement, health and safety assessments and day to day troubleshooting on several sites at once. Most projects are short term and the project size can vary from a few thousand pounds to £500K but each has bespoke elements that will need careful management.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience within the construction industry, as a Site Manager, Site Agent, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Buyer, or any other construction role, managing sub-contractors and operations on site and from the office.
Having site and commercial experience would be a bonus but are not essential as this role if for a current manager looking to develop further.

This is a small firm which is well established they will offer the ability to progress and develop as a fully-fledged contracts manager the salary is competitive with the sub-contractor market which can be up to £40,000 per annum.
