Building Surveyor Responsive Repairs

A local social housing provider requires a Maintenance Surveyor for responsive maintenance on a mixed portfolio of residential dwellings. You will advise and respond to residents and individual customers as well as meetings with tenant/resident committees. Although this is predominantly for day to day reactive repairs specification where required, you will also be involved in a range of planned maintenance specification to assist the Head of Asset Management.
This role will see you:
- Assist the estimating section in the preparation of estimates using a range of tender formats including MTC and bills of quantities
- Prepare estimates and pricing
- Experience of using and updating Schedule of Rates
- Carry out necessary contract documentation, correspondence, measurement /re-measurement of works
Knowledge and experience of relevant IT systems and the ability to carry out your work on PC based systems is essential along with the ability to produce spreadsheets and update/maintain databases. Preparation of detailed design and surveying of building fabric repairs and supervision of specified works. Ensure that current Health and Safety legislation is implemented and adhered to enabling you to act as Planning Supervisor in accordance with CDM regulations.
Pre and post inspection of works, where necessary measurement of works, ensuring contractors deliver the specified repair and that they comply with the relevant Schedule of Rates.
It is essential that you are a car owner/driver, have three years' experience in repairs and maintenance surveying in occupied dwellings, a relevant qualification in a building discipline and can be available for the occasional evening meeting.
