Your new company is an international multi discipline consultancy that is about to start work on some of the largest projects in the UK and across the globe. Working on a variety of project, varying from Civils to structures and Nuclear to Defence contracts. Your new role

They are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor/ Cost Manager within their Transportation Sector to support a variety of projects in the highways sector. This business sector involves working on high value, strategically important projects which are high profile within the client's organisation. By the very nature of the size of the projects you will be expected to perform pre and post contract services for the client and form part of a team approach to project delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with experience in the Transportation sector. You will be dealing with all aspects of pre and post contract cost management utilising traditional skills and the latest digital technology. As well as with minimal supervision you will undertake cost estimating, preparation of tender documents and post contract administration, manage client relationships and service delivery on a project basis. You will also be able to demonstrate a sound track record of service delivery in the consultancy or contracting field.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in your new role you will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager with good experience of civil engineering work possibly including but not limited to rail, highways and transport in the consultancy sector. You will need to be commercially aware as well as being able to demonstrate an ability to undertake measurement from drawings and prepare pre contract cost estimates. Your ability to work well as part of a team and demonstrate good people interface skills to support and mentor where required will be a massive help to you. You will also need to have suitable client interface skills and experience.

What you'll get in return

In return for your experience and dedication your new company will pay circa £44,000 as well as a comprehensive reward package including 25 days annual leave per annum plus 8 days paid bank holidays per annum.
