Drainage Engineer / technician role in Cardiff using Autocad

Your new role

Review and comment on planning applications for flood risk and surface water management issues
Technically review and approve detailed design of surface water networks as consultee to Local Planning Authority and / or SuDS adopting body
Assist in the design and development of minor highway drainage / flood alleviation schemes (£0 - £50k)

Occasional / potential duties:
Site investigations relating to flooding / highway drainage incidents
Assist in drainage investigations, including preparation of drainage assessments for potential marketing of Council property
Undertake reactive inspection and advise on the maintenance / repair of Council owned sewage treatment works

Experience designing / reviewing surface water / highway drainage schemes
Experience of CAD
Knowledge of relevant legislation controlling flood risk and surface water management
Civil / environmental engineering qualification, or equivalent
Understanding of planning process for developments
Current driving licence

Experience of MicroDrainage
Experience of SuDS
Experience using QGIS or equivalent GIS
Experience calculating run-off for developments / catchments
Experience of maintaining small sewage treatment works / pumping stations (not essential)
