A multi-disciplined construction consultancy are seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to join their well-established Central Birmingham, Building Consultancy team. This is a role ideal for an Assistant Building Surveyor who has already made a start to their APC but isn't getting the training and guidance needed to successfully continue.

A modern progressive multi-disciplined construction consultancy who have been established for over 40 years UK wide. This consultancy offer a wide range of construction services ranging from Building and Quantity Survey to Project Management and Architecture. With the Birmingham office looking to expand their Building Consultancy team by 50% over the next 3years, this company prefer to grow their team organically and offer a structured APC program for Assistants who are looking to achieve MRICS accreditation.

The company, who are one of the more reputable construction consultancies in Birmingham have a commitment to growing their team from within and therefore focus heavily on the development of their staff.

The Role

The successful Assistant Building Surveyor will work under an extremely experienced APC assessor in a varied team of Building Surveyor's ranging from Graduate's to the Director of Building Consultancy. Your responsibilities will include;

  • Measured Building surveys
  • Defect diagnosis
  • Prepare and present design proposals
  • Specifications
  • Neighbourly matters
  • Dilapidations
  • Client liaison
  • Presentation of schemes
  • Act as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent

This is an expanding team of Surveyors located in a large open-plan, state of the art office.

The Successful Assistant Building Surveyor

This role is ideal for an Assistant Building Surveyor who has made a start on their APC and has a keen focus on becoming MRICS chartered.

  • Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience
  • MSc/BSc in Building Surveying
  • Associate member of RICS
  • Experience in dealing with both Project and Professional Building Surveying matters
  • Committed to career progression
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be self-motivated, ambitious and organised
