Project Officer - Waste
The Borough of Poole has an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join their well established Environmental Development team. A key part of the role will involve leading, supporting and delivering essential projects that will develop and shape how we manage waste and make it more financially sustainable.
The role will require flexibility to work in the following areas (but not limited to): waste strategies and strategy implementation (both disposal and collection), recycling and re-use initiatives, waste modelling and data analysis, contract management and procurement, commercial waste, Household Waste Recycling Centres and Transfer Station. In addition you will also have future scope to expand your skills by working closely with colleagues on projects that improve the quality of Poole’s parks, nature reserves, amenity spaces and their facilities.
An essential part of your job will be to build strong relationships with external partners and internal colleagues, so you must be an excellent and confident communicator, ensuring others trust your professional judgement and advice.
You will play an active role in a multi-skilled and motivated team, and there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and contribute to the direction of the service as a whole.
Whatever stage of your career we welcome your application. If you are just starting out in a project or waste management role we will help you develop along with our business. Equally, if you are an experienced Project Officer with a solid customer focus, we also welcome your application.
For an informal discussion please contact David Rickards, Waste Disposal and Contracts Manager, on 01202 261744 or Rachel Davies, Waste Strategy Manager, on 01202 261702
