A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Land Manager to join a Housing Association in Sheffield to identify and purchase land and buildings to support the delivery of their Development Plan.
This will be managing the Association's land interests including options and acquisitions and to develop and foster relationships with internal and external partners, maximising land acquisition opportunities. This is a pro rata role and will be part time hours of 15 hours per week.

To be considered for this role, you will have; proven experience of successful land/property sourcing and acquisition in the residential sector, demonstrable local knowledge and deal-sourcing networks within the Sheffield City Region, knowledge of the operating environment and changing market conditions and financial appraisal and viability assessment of development sites. As well as this, a RICS or relevant professional qualification would be desirable.

You will be tasked with the following opportunities:

-Identifying opportunities to acquire land within the Sheffield City Region for new housing development including homes for affordable rent, shared ownership, market sale and market rent
-Gathering intelligence on sites that are likely to come forward for development, prioritise opportunities and follow up on leads
-Contributing to feasibility studies, financial appraisals and risk management to assess the viability of individual sites
-Carrying out, and maintaining a sound knowledge of, all technical aspects relating to the acquisition and development of land and associated legal agreements as well as legal issues relating to contracts, joint ventures and partnerships
-Formulating offers, co-ordinate investigations and negotiate with local authorities, agents and lawyers to produce contracts for signature, including conditional contracts and options
-Undertaking due diligence, liaise with all internal departments and oversee projects up to legal completion all in accordance with internal procedures, standards and financial delegations and in line with the Association's Probity Policy.
-Supporting the Development team in the preparation of bids for land, new schemes and wider opportunities
-Developing positive relationships with key players in the market including agents, landowners, builders/developers, local authorities, the Homes and Communities Agency, consultants, valuers, banks/receivers to source opportunities including off-market
-Optimising networks and networking opportunities within the industry/sector to develop a detailed knowledge of opportunities and competitor activity
-Developing and maintain a database of new and existing contacts and networks
-Build positive relationships with colleagues in the Housing Association, working as part of a team to identify the best opportunities and maximise agility
-Managing the land bank and the land bank register
-Representing the company at meetings promoting the organisation positively.
-Keeping clear and accurate records of meetings and negotiations.
-Carrying out other tasks related to development work reasonably requested by the Business Development Director.

This role would be suited to a self-starter who likes to be target-driven and is able to generate their own workload. It is ideal for somebody who is looking for a part time role on a pro rata basis with flexible working hours. You will need to have the drive to seek out and pursue potential development opportunities as well as to communicate well with a wide range of people, both verbally and in writing.
