Senior Quantity Surveyor (North)
About the role
As part of the Commercial team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the Canal & River Trust receives best commercial value from all construction and dredging projects. How? By providing expert commercial support to the procurement team on tenders and to 40+ project managers and by ensuring all major contract work is compliant with the conditions of contract and is delivered within the required timescales.
Day to day, the role will involve doing everything from tender preparation and assessments, agreeing Target Costs or Prices, conducting audits and carrying out monthly KPI assessments, post Contract award you will be providing the Trusts project managers support on commercial and contract issues. You will also focus on minimising the Trust’s exposure to unnecessary contract risk.
We are looking for someone with a recognised UK client or main contractor background and proven track record of working on NEC3 ECC and ECSC Contracts. You must have experience of managing KPIs and of carrying out supplier performance analysis, ideally within a Civil Engineering, or Building environment. A professional qualification such as RICS or CICES would be ideal, as would some people management or leadership experience. It’s essential that you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
