Your new role
In your new role as the electrical shift engineer, you will work a shift pattern of earlies, mids and lates (6-2, 2-10 and 10-6). Primarily, you will be responsible for effective repairs to electrical equipment in line with engineering standards and legislative requirements, carrying out testing and inspections, assisting with installation, ensuring the manufacturing facility and it's equipment is running as efficiently as possible. You will liaise with the engineering management, amongst other teams, ensuring all PM's are conducted and followed up accordingly. Naturally, you are responsible for the safe work of yourself and other colleagues within the production environment.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role as the electrical engineer, ideally you will hold ONC/HNC or HND qualifications in electrical maintenance, as well as a time served apprenticeship . Experience working in an industrial and/or metal manufacturing environment (heavy engineering) would be beneficial. You adopt a can do attitude with a strong reliability focus and a passion for proactive problem solving methods. Adopting a hands-on approach to proactive fault finding comes naturally to you. You are used to working in a fast paced environment with challenging deadlines.
