Quantity Surveyor required for £23m Civil Engineering & Water Infrastructure project
Quantity Surveyor for Civil Engineering Contractor in their Utilities division
A leading UK civil engineering contractor has the need for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team working on one of the UK's largest and longest Utility frameworks. The company are currently involved in some of the largest civil engineering projects in the UK and have a full order book for future work also.
The successful Quantity Surveyor would be expected to manage up to 5 packages of work valued at between £500k to £5m, comprising of civil engineering, utilities, and M&E. This would involve managing the process from first principles through to completion working closely with the Commercial Manager.
Work is scheduled to continue in 2022 with the option for a 5 year extension on top of that, with this contractor offering the opportunity for promotion within the business into more Senior positions.
Undertake general commercial responsibilities under the direction of other members of the commercial department, including the pricing of reactive and planned improvement works
To ensure that financial and commercial management practices are maintained in accordance with company guidelines and procedures
To assist Operational Managers and other operational staff in the financial and commercial management of works as directed by the commercial team
Assist in the assessment and comparison of sub-contractor quotations
Assist in the preparation of monthly valuation reports and Cost value Reconciliations
Liaise with the Depot Managers/Supervisors to provide commercial support where requested
To undertake pre-construction site measures in preparation of submitting estimated work values
- To liaise with operational teams to assist with effective cost and value control.
