I am looking for a Group Commercial Manager for an outstanding design lead house builder with regions across the Country.

This is a brand new role created to support the Commercial function across the group. This is a true Commercial Business Partner role, not enforcing rules from a manual!

  • This a very unique opportunity within house building to drive change and best practice with a genuine 'blank canvass' on how to achieve it.
  • There are objectives that the role needs to achieve but how you do this is completely up to you.
  • This is not a role that will require you to quote from manuals to on-board regional Commercial teams, this is a business partnering role working with teams to understand why they are doing what they do and how.
  • You'll look at what works well and come up with a way to implement it across the other regions
  • You'll monitor and influence the regions Commercial activity to ensure Group objectives are being met. This will relate particularly to build cost management and land appraisals.
  • You'll work closely with the Director but you'll have autonomy.
  • Naturally you'll need to be an excellent communicator, be able to deal with big personalities and be comfortable being collaborative.

To be considered for this role you have to be able to demonstrate the following;

  • You need to be an established Commercial manager from either a volume developer, medium sized business or a social housing contractor. Extensive knowledge of house building is critical.
  • You'll need to be confident with programme delivery, budget forecasting and change management
  • You'll have to be superb with internal stakeholders and you have to be able to influence.
  • You will be dealing with some big characters so you'll need to be able to tailor your communication style.
  • Ambition and drive is a pre-requisite.
