The role

You will lead a mobile team who are responsible for local engagement across a wide range of construction related employer groups and stakeholders to impact positively on the skills requirements and image of the construction industry. To ensure the industry has the skills it needs through enabling and supporting local collaboration activity with industry and stakeholders. 

We will look to you to lead, advise, coach and support your team operating across the South West and South of England. As well as assigning work and apportioning responsibilities, you’ll carefully manage team performance. Committed to the highest standards of service, you’ll help to shape delivery strategy and champion performance improvements to ensure the most consistent, efficient and effective approaches are taken. You’ll deliver and support bespoke training and mentoring to members of your team. Crucially you will be a good communicator and actively promote and support your team in their engagement with employers and stakeholder groups, including local authorities, industry groups and federations.

About you

You will bring to the role significant experience of leading a team, including contributions towards planning and budgeting. As important as your excellent analytical skills is your proven flair for communication, diplomacy and influencing. Ideally you will have or be working towards an appropriate coaching and mentoring qualification and/or Level 3 in Human Resource Development (or similar equivalent). But your experience and knowledge of managing a high performing team is just as important. A good understanding of the latest developments within the construction industry and its professions is essential.
